DIY dip dye

While sifting through the Elizabeth and James collection (kudos Olsens) I came across a dip dye flannel that I couldn't stop lusting over. Not having the means to fund such a spendy buy, I decided that I would have to take manners into my own hand and make my own. I went to the thrift store and purchased this Ralph Lauren. After a bottle of bleach and some creativity this is what I came up with!

High waisted shorts. DIY

After spending too much time lusting over distressed high waisted shorts on a broke wallet it had became apparent that the only option was to Do It Yourself. My friend Hannah and I went to the nearest thrift store and sifted through the mounds of jeans till we each found a pair of 80's fit denim. After a few home remedies we created these two beauties. I'm so in love with them! They're the perfect summer shorts!

J Crew boots

Denim top from Ann Taylor, Designer jeans from Portland Boutique, J Crew boots, Madewell tank, Urban Outfitters bag.

They're 100% leather with a rubber sole.

Sunglasses are from Aldo, Beanie from American Apparel, bracelet from Banana Republic, top from Forever 21, random jeans again that I have still yet to figure the name of, and Steve Madden gladiators.

Neon seems to be in this spring and in a big way. But then again, isn't it every spring? Well.. maybe pastels had a larger influence last year. Anyways, I found this neon beanie at American Apparel for only 20 bucks and I couldn't be happier. It's the perfect accessory and can be paired up with a multitude of different outfits. Please go and get yourself one.. just not neon orange. You'll look like something resembling an inmate.. not a chic fashionable individual.

Denim!

Ann Taylor denim shirt, Dolce & Gabbana tank, Clarke boots, Ellen Tracy belt, random unidentified jeans.

While walking aimlessly, one day, through Goodwill I happened to spot this Ann Taylor button up. I had spent over a year trying to find the perfect denim top and fell in love with this one instantly. They always seem to be too big or the wrong color but this one was too perfect.  And just in time because it seems like we can't get enough denim this spring. Make sure it's added to your shopping list!

Style, "revamped."

Chiffon button-up from American Apparel, cigarette black skinnies from Urban Outfitters, Jean shirt, and Clarke ankle boots.

I'm taking my look into a new direction. A little more masculine. A little more classy. Still androgynous.

The over-the-knee socks are from Urban Outfitters and the tights are Jessica Simpson.

I have found over the past year a love for the over-the-knee sock!
I am aware that this has been an in-and-out trend for quite some time now, but never thought I’d give a go at it. Eventually I did, and I have come to love it. The way the sock covers your leg just leaving some of your upper bare skin to show. It has a touch of elegance yet still manages to look sexy in an off-putting way. And of course black is always a smart choice to go with; since it’s slimming.
I would suggest wearing these socks over a pair of textured tights but you can always just go with bare skin. You could match it up with a pair of shorts but I prefer to take a different route and put it with a long shirt and sweater/cardi. Either way looks cute.
For shoes, I would suggest something subtle so as to make the sock stand out and something that doesn’t really go past the ankle. You don’t want to look like you have to many layers on the leg; it defeats the purpose of a slimming leg.
Try this chic look. You’ll love it!

Just as I find most of my jewelry, I discovered this cross ring in Forever 21. It instantly caught my eye with its goth chic vibe.
Jewelry designers, Alex and Chloe, collaborated with Forever 21 to create a line of affordable jewelry. Their line was full of studs, crosses, and diamonds. Enough to make any fashion guru melt at the spot. Crosses being constantly in style, it’s always a good purchase to make. Whether it be a necklace, earrings, or a ring. I prefer black when it comes to jewelry because it tends to go with a lot of different ensembles and I always try to find unique pieces.
When collecting jewelry, it’s important to find pieces that represent your style. People really do notice it.
And remember, you can never wear too many rings!

The over sized chiffon button-up and tights are from American Apparel. The shoes are Clarks and the jewelry is from Forever 21.

I wear this chiffon button-up quite often. It is beautifully designed and fits the body like a dream. They way the fabric drapes and flows is just perfect. It's basic, so of course can go with anything.

I decided to start my blog with something that showcases my sense of fashion very directly. Basic, bold, and chic.
